 Lynch-Getty Award 2018-2019 Recipients

The following students were selected for the Lynch-Getty Award for 2018-2019 – provided for by the Ottawa-Carleton Education Network. Each student was awarded $1,000 CAD from OCENET and a plaque which was presented at their graduation ceremony.

  • Violet Schuyoung Cai - Earl of March Secondary School

  • Uyanga Darkhanbaatar - Gloucester High School

  • Amanda Robyn McCarthy - Bell High School

  • Jueun Park - Earl of March Secondary School

 Najla Mohamed received the Lynch-Getty Global Student Award from OCDSB Superintendent of Instruction Shawn Lehman at the Ridgemont HS Graduation Ceremony in June 2018

OCDSB and OCENET receive CBIE Award of Excellence


On Friday November 21, Geoff Best, Executive Director of Ottawa-Carleton Education Network (OCENET) and Kathy Scheepers, International Euducation Coordinator of OCENET accepted, on behalf of the OCDSB and OCENET, the CBIE Board of Director's Award for Comprehensive Internationalization one of CBIE's 10 Excellence Awards awarded annually

International student wins prestigious scholarship


Congratulations go to Xiang Gu who is one of three international students to be offered a full 4-year scholarship from the University of Western Ontario!

Xiang started school in Canada two years ago. In order to enhance her English skills she enrolled in the Young Peoples Language School prior to attending Brookfield High School. She truly appreciates Canadian culture and has felt welcomed by all the Canadians she has met.

International Soccer Team

The boys soccer team played against two teams from the Ottawa Royals Soccer Club.
We won both games and the boys had a great time.
On the team we have players from China, Japan, Korea, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Spain and Germany.
