Lynch Getty Global Student Award - Application 2017-2018 now Open!

Available to all students in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board in grade 12 in the 2017/2018 school year.

In June of this year Grade 12 students including international students from the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board will be recognized for demonstrating leadership in the community through their involvement in groups, events and activities that foster cross-cultural learning and understanding.

Each recipient will receive an award valued at $1,000 CAD that is to be used upon graduation towards post-secondary education or a volunteer experience outside Canada.

OCDSB and OCENET receive CBIE Award of Excellence


On Friday November 21, Geoff Best, Executive Director of Ottawa-Carleton Education Network (OCENET) and Kathy Scheepers, International Euducation Coordinator of OCENET accepted, on behalf of the OCDSB and OCENET, the CBIE Board of Director's Award for Comprehensive Internationalization one of CBIE's 10 Excellence Awards awarded annually

International student wins prestigious scholarship


Congratulations go to Xiang Gu who is one of three international students to be offered a full 4-year scholarship from the University of Western Ontario!

Xiang started school in Canada two years ago. In order to enhance her English skills she enrolled in the Young Peoples Language School prior to attending Brookfield High School. She truly appreciates Canadian culture and has felt welcomed by all the Canadians she has met.

International Soccer Team

The boys soccer team played against two teams from the Ottawa Royals Soccer Club.
We won both games and the boys had a great time.
On the team we have players from China, Japan, Korea, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Spain and Germany.
